Facebook Text Fields Are Different
A post, a Page name, a personal profile name and an ad are different publishing surfaces. Being able to paste Unicode does not establish permission to use it in every field. In particular, do not use a generator preview as proof that a styled Page name satisfies Facebook’s naming rules.
| Destination | Practical approach |
|---|---|
| Post or comment | Try a short label, leaving the main content in ordinary text. Preview the saved result. |
| Event or group description | Keep dates, locations and rules plain; use spacing to organize them. |
| Profile or Page name | Follow the current name requirements before attempting decoration. |
| Ad copy | Use clear ordinary text and consult the current advertising standards. |
See Facebook’s Page name guidance and Meta Advertising Standards. These links are the authority for their respective fields; this tool does not validate policy compliance.
A Simple Post Structure
For a fictional community event, use a short heading followed by plain lines for date, location and registration. Bold Sans or Math Bold can provide a decorative heading; small caps or circled text are alternatives to compare. This is an illustrative layout, not evidence of higher engagement or search ranking.
Do not replace a searchable organization name with decoration everywhere. Keep an ordinary-text version in the relevant profile or description. Search normalization and device rendering are separate from the character conversion.
Comparing Facebook’s Eight Options
Facebook’s workbench starts with Bold, Italic, Cursive, Sans Bold, Small Caps, Circled, Underline, and Enclosing Millions + Hearts. Every one is marked partial for Facebook in the engine’s compatibility data. There are no full or broken ratings among these eight; a rating does not approve a profile or Page name.
Circled and Underline distinguish this selection from Instagram’s, which includes Bold Cursive and Stars Above instead. For a numbered event label, Circled maps uppercase letters, lowercase letters and all ten digits, including zero, to enclosed characters. Small Caps works differently: it substitutes lowercase letters, leaves uppercase input and digits unchanged, and keeps lowercase x as an ordinary x. Choosing between these two options changes which parts of the same label are converted. Double Struck appears later in Facebook’s recommendations and is outside this workbench’s first eight choices.
Before You Paste
Check Facebook’s Page name requirements before styling a Page name, even if the same text can be pasted into a post.
